We live right now where there are multiple opportunities to learn, create and just keep doing something productive. Also creating the hustle culture of “if you are not doing something to make sure life is better, you are wasting time.” (I prefer if you are not doing something to grow, you could miss opportunities).
I think doing something productive and learning is great, but make sure to also enjoy doing nothing. Enjoy a day where you can do anything not related to work without judgement on yourself. Go fishing, play games all day, binge-watch that NetFlix show, go for a hike, etc.
The benefits of doing these? I dont know but for me generally, I guess:
- Less anxiety for a day
- See the world
- Take the pressure off your shoulder
- Opening up your mind to wander
- Do something you love (for those who say they love their work, I’m sure there are other things you love)
- Great ideas or solutions to problems you are working on usually come when the mind is free to wander.
