Hesitant to share this as my team is here and will call me out ?.
But I think every manager or leader encounters issues around motivating their team.

Here are a few things I believe help motivate my team. Well, I thought so anyway. My team will tell you if I thought wrong.

?  Be an example to the team. Work hard, show up on time, be always motivated, etc.

? Make time to learn together or do activities together. TBAs, Shared Learnings, Retros, etc.

?  Create a shared vision – Outline the benefits to the business and their careers. This doesn’t have to be always monetary benefits it could mean a new skill, the first to ever achieve this in the business, etc.

?  Challenge them: Providing your team with a clear challenge and putting them a little bit out of their comfort zone would help.

? Be there to push but also support when needed. You’re not a team because you support each other. You support each other that’s why you’re a team.

? Most important is to not forget that they are your team and they are human, empathise with their situation.
